The Olsen twins have managed to infuse the essence of Paris into their store, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels like stepping into someone’s luxurious yet comfortable home.

After establishing physical stores in New York, London, the Hamptons, and Los Angeles, the renowned twin fashion designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have finally launched a flagship store for The Row in Paris – a city that holds a deep affection for them. Every year, Paris hosts The Row during Fashion Week, providing a platform to showcase their latest designs.

The fashion brand The Row has established its retail presence in Paris, nestled in the 1e arrondissement, with the storefront situated on the intersection of rue d’Alger and rue de Mont Thabor, between rue de Rivoli and rue Saint-Honoré. This strategic location, long desired by the twin designers, was finally found after years of searching. Speaking to Vogue, Ashley expressed their persistence, “We’ve been searching for years, always looking everywhere.” She further explained, “Our dream was to be in Paris before opening in London, but we didn’t find a suitable location here first. Then, 18 months ago, a friend informed us about this spot.

The sisters aimed to integrate the store into the community, striving for it to have a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. As Ashley put it, “We want the community to feel at home here—to see this store as a local establishment. Their experience is just as valuable to us as any other aspect of our business.” The sisters were determined to achieve a balance between preserving the building’s original charm, with its industrial piping, and maintaining the brand’s understated elegance.

Exploring the new The Row store feels like stepping into someone’s stylish home. Notable pieces like wooden Traineau chairs by Victor Coutray and custom seating paired with a 1930s modernist coffee table by Michel Dufet set the tone. High stone arches are accompanied by comfortable, cozy seating, while two Henrik Wouda armchairs can be found in an adjoining room. On its opening day, Ashley expressed, “We’re eager to open because there’s so much to learn in the process. It requires flexibility and adaptability, which is very much a part of our nature. Though not the most conventional location in Paris—we considered nearly every major street in the city—we are thrilled to be here.
