Approximately a year and a bit has elapsed since Gerry Turner charmed both America and Theresa Nist on the heartwarming dating show spinoff, and it’s been roughly three months since their divorce became official. When they announced their separation live on Good Morning America, they emphasized that their affection for each other remained strong. This sentiment appears to persist, as Theresa shared with the New York Post that she has maintained communication with her former spouse.
Gerry and I have had a chat, but it’s not often we talk. I wish him nothing but the best, as I can see he has a great group of friends, and I’m thrilled for him. According to certain reports, it was assumed that Gerry Turner had told untruths about relocating to New Jersey. However, Susan Noles, a fellow cast member on “Golden Bachelor” and officiant for “The Golden Wedding”, disclosed that it was actually Theresa Nist who had expressed reluctance. It became known shortly thereafter that Theresa’s daughter was pregnant, leading one to ponder if this may have influenced her decision not to move to Indiana. Of course, Theresa’s apparent fondness for the beach could also have been a factor in her resistance to relocation.
Although Theresa Nist occasionally communicates with her ex-husband, it’s one of the cast members from The Golden Bachelor, Leslie Fhima, with whom she maintains a regular connection. Their bond deepened during the show’s filming, and despite the fact that Leslie harbored feelings for the man Theresa eventually married, Theresa revealed that Leslie is her closest friend from the series. Without a doubt, it’s Leslie who has become my close friend. Our friendship started during the show, and there’s just an attraction between us that draws us together. She showed me some workout routines, and we used to go for walks, sharing meals along the way. After the show ended, I made an effort to rekindle our bond, and fortunately, it worked out. Unfortunately, we don’t live in the same area, but we stay connected through frequent conversations. If only we lived closer, we’d be spending evenings together regularly.
