As a long-time follower of Bollywood, I’ve seen it all – from the glitz and glamour to the not-so-glamorous moments. The recent incident involving Shraddha Kapoor’s bodyguard at Bhuvan Bam’s Taaza Khabar Season 2 screening is one of those moments that make us question the boundaries between stardom and fan interaction.
Actress Shraddha Kapoor, enjoying the triumph of Stree 2, recently attended the premiere of Bhuvan Bam’s Taaza Khabar Season 2 in Mumbai. She also shared a photo with the actor on her Instagram along with a heartfelt caption. But things took a turn when a video surfaced showing her security guard forcefully pushing away a fan who was trying to take a selfie with Shraddha.
In the popularly shared video, Shraddha Kapoor is filmed stepping out of her vehicle and approaching the red carpet amidst a throng of enthusiastic fans and snapping photographers. As her security guard attempts to create an opening for her entrance into the event, one fan darted forward with a mobile phone, eager to snap a photo with the Stree 2 star. In response, the bodyguard forcefully moved the fan aside, leading to criticism from online viewers.
User A expressed annoyance by saying, “The bodyguards were rude.” User B commented, “Bodyguards can sometimes overstep boundaries; shoving someone doesn’t increase their income. That person just wanted a picture—it’s not like they’re earning millions from it!” User C asked, “What happened with the bodyguard?
A different individual observed that in Mumbai, security personnel are growing more confrontational. This behavior is not limited to public areas like temples, schools, and colleges, but it’s also evident there. It’s crucial for them to learn soft skills because with power comes responsibility, and when we give power to someone who isn’t ready for it, misuse can occur. However, some people have defended the bodyguard, arguing that people should just act normally in such situations, while others have stated that the duty of the bodyguard is to protect their charge.
Yet, there’s a degree of ambiguity about whether the security officers involved were exclusively tasked with protecting Shraddha Kapoor or if they were simply part of the overall event security detail.
The second season premiere of Bhuvan Bam’s Taaza Khabar was an extravagant event, graced by several popular Bollywood figures like Tiger Shroff, Shehnaaz Gill, Meezaan Jaffry, Rajpal Yadav, and numerous others.
Currently, Shraddha Kapoor is basking in the triumph of her recent movie, Stree 2. This film has maintained its impressive run at the box office for six weeks since its release, showing no signs of slowing down. The horror-comedy features an ensemble cast including Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. Stree 2 belongs to the Maddock horror-comedy universe, which includes other films such as Stree, Bhediya, Roohi, and Munjya.
After the successful release of the movie, it’s been confirmed that there will be another chapter with the popular pairing of Shraddha and Rajkummar. Currently, you can rent this film online as well.
