Future Has Earned His Third No. 1 Album of the Year With 'Mixtape Pluto'

As a longtime music enthusiast who’s witnessed the evolution of hip-hop, I can confidently say that Future’s latest achievement is nothing short of phenomenal! With his third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 this year, he’s not just breaking records, but shattering them like a beat dropped in a club!

This year, Future’s newest album titled “Mixtape Pluto” marks his third number one debut on the Billboard 200 chart.

Ever since its debut, Future’s latest album has made waves by selling approximately 129,000 equivalent album units according to Billboard, marking a remarkable first-week chart breakout. Remarkably, this is his third consecutive No. 1 album in the past six months, making it his 11th No. 1 album to top the Billboard 200 chart. The album was unveiled only ten days ago and was announced a week prior to its release.

In the first half of this year, Future managed to secure the top spot on the album charts with two releases, “We Don’t Trust You” and “We Still Don’t Trust You,” both produced by Metro Boomin. Although the new album has seen fewer tracks, it amassed an impressive 156.62 million streams. Notably, this is the first time since the Glee cast that an artist has managed to claim three No. 1 albums in a six-month period with chart-topping soundtracks being the exception. Excluding the Glee cast, only The Beatles have ever accomplished this feat before. With this latest achievement, Future now shares the fifth place for the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, a ranking that dates back to March 1956. Artists with more No. 1s are The Beatles, JAY-Z, Taylor Swift, and Drake.
