The much-anticipated second season of Taaza Khabar, a series from Hotstar Specials starring internet sensation Bhuvan Bam as the lead character, has been released on Disney+ Hotstar. In a recent conversation, Bhuvan shared his thoughts about the show, expressing his hope that it will assist him in making a successful transition into Bollywood and commented, “I’m hoping it will help me make a smoother entry into Bollywood, demonstrating that content creators from digital platforms can also excel in mainstream films.
As reported by Hindustan Times, Bhuvan Bam, who was also involved in producing the series, expressed optimism about the prospects this role might bring his way. He openly shared his ambitions for an easier move into Bollywood and emphasized the possibility of digital content creators finding success in mainstream movies.
Speaking about Taaza Khabar 2, Bhuvan referred to it as his ‘tryout’ for Bollywood. He mentioned that in this series, he’s pushed himself to explore new boundaries and test his acting skills. Specifically, he highlighted scenes demanding great vulnerability and strength, aiming to display his versatility beyond just making people laugh or feel emotions. Bhuvan views this project as a chance to prove his range across different genres, hoping to gain acceptance from both the audience and the film industry.
Bhuvan Bam credits the achievement of this project to his partnership with gifted actors like Jaaved Jaaferi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Mahesh Manjrekar. He mentioned that working together with such a talented ensemble was both ‘motivating and daunting’. Furthermore, he said, “There were instances when their acting sparked new ideas in my interpretation of a scene. I picked up quite a bit just by watching them work.
Speaking about his position as co-producer for the series, Bhuvan Bam stated that he made this decision intentionally to have more artistic oversight over the project. He elaborated that with Taaza Khabar 2, they aimed to capitalize on the success of the first season and improve multiple facets, such as the narrative and production values. Moreover, his role in production allowed them to take daring risks, allocate high-quality resources, and bridge the gap between digital content and mainstream films.
I simply can’t contain my excitement! Taaza Khabar 2 is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, and as a die-hard fan, I’ve been waiting for this moment since the first season dropped in January 2023.
