FX Snags ‘The Beauty’ Series From Ryan Murphy

As a seasoned gamer with a knack for binge-watching, I can’t help but feel like I’ve stumbled upon a new level of excitement in the TV universe. With Ryan Murphy‘s latest creation, “The Beauty,” gracing our screens, it seems that the line between reality and fiction is blurring even more, much like the boundary between levels in my favorite games!

FX will be home to yet another series from Ryan Murphy.

20th Television, a subsidiary owned by Disney, has acquired a new drama series called “The Beauty“, produced by Ryan Murphy’s self-titled company and 20th Television. The show, set to star Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope, is inspired by the 2016 comic book series of the same name from Image Comics. Co-creators for this project are Ryan Murphy and Matthew Hodgson, known for their work on “American Sports Story” and “911”.

Typically with Murphy’s productions, specifics about the storyline remain under wraps. The series is adapted from a graphic novel written by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley, which unfolds in a world where a sexually transmitted infection rapidly sweeps across the globe, primarily due to its ability to enhance physical attractiveness. However, two investigators find themselves uncovering a plot linked to the disease’s origin.

Production on “The Beauty” is slated to start this fall, following a string of series launches by Murphy: FX’s “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez,” “Grotesquerie,” Netflix’s “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” and ABC’s “Doctor Odyssey” have all been released within the last fortnight.

In their latest project, Murphy and Peters are teaming up again, having previously worked together on American Horror Story, Pose, and the first season of Monster, specifically focusing on Jeffrey Dahmer. Notably, Peters garnered an Emmy nomination for portraying Dahmer in this series. He is represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Johnson Shapiro, and Slate Public Relations.

Ashton Kutcher has recently appeared in the romantic comedy “Your Place or Mine” for Netflix, the film “Vengeance”, and a guest role on “That ’90s Show”. He is represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Untitled Entertainment, and Sloane Offer.

After finishing up with the movie “Twisters,” Ramos has a new project lined up – Marvel’s series on Disney+ titled “Ironheart,” which is set to release in 2025. He is represented by CAA, Door 24, Laffitte Management Group, and attorney Erik Hyman.

Pope received an Emmy nomination for his work on the Netflix miniseries Hollywood, and has also been seen in Pose and the movie The Inspection, where he garnered a Golden Globe nomination. He is represented by WME, Door 24, attorney Michael Auerbach, and Shelter PR.

Murphy and Hodgson serve as executive producers for the production of “The Beauty,” alongside Peters, Ramos, Pope, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich, and Eric Gitter.
