As High Potential Already Takes A Break On ABC, Here's What To Expect When Kaitlin Olson's New Drama Returns

As a seasoned gamer and avid TV enthusiast with over two decades of binge-watching under my belt, I must say that ABC’s High Potential has caught my eye, particularly with the captivating performance by Kaitlin Olson who is known for her comedic role in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

2024 TV lineup will feature Kaitlin Olson of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” in a more serious role than her sitcom character. Airing only two episodes so far, ABC has decided to postpone the next episode this week. Keep reading for the reasons behind this delay, when the following episode will air, and what exciting changes are coming up!

Why Kaitlin Olson’s High Potential Is Taking A Break

If you’ve grown fond of the show “High Potential” featuring the actress from “Always Sunny” after watching only two episodes, don’t jump to conclusions that ABC is abandoning the series and removing it from primetime. In fact, there won’t be a new episode airing on Tuesday, October 1st. The reason for this is that there will be a vice presidential debate between Tim Walz and JD Vance scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET, which will take up the 10 p.m. time slot usually occupied by “High Potential.

Among the significant television networks, ABC isn’t the only one switching its regular programming for the debate broadcast. In fact, on Tuesday night, only Fox’s new series “Murder in a Small Town” with Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk will air, and that’s at 8 p.m. ET, before the debate begins!

In gaming terms, it’s no surprise that schedules can get shuffled during election seasons, just like how America’s Got Talent and other shows took a break when Kamala Harris debated Donald Trump back in early September. If you’re more into Kaitlin Olson’s detective adventures in High Potential, you’re in luck! The first two episodes are available for streaming right now with your Hulu subscription.

What To Expect When High Potential Returns

ABC won’t make fans wait much longer to catch the next installment of High Potential, following the vice presidential debate. The third episode of Season 1 is set to air on Tuesday, October 8 at its regular 10 p.m. ET time slot. Titled “Dirty Rotten Scoundrel,” here’s a sneak peek into what the ABC preview has in store:

At a crime scene in a hotel room where a murder has taken place, Morgan’s sharp mind and cleaning expertise turn out to be valuable assets as they help solve the mystery surrounding the victim’s deceitful past. Meanwhile, Morgan assists Ava with her romantic entanglements, while Soto shares insights about Roman’s unexpected disappearance.

I find the fresh revelations about Roman’s disappearance intriguing following the previous episode, where Soto told Morgan (and overhearing Ava) that he hadn’t abandoned them all those years ago. It seems likely that the series High Potential won’t unravel this big mystery before the season ends – if it even starts that early – but I’m eager for more hints. The preview suggests that the upcoming episode will mostly focus on a case of the week, with Morgan and Karadec working together. Here’s a peek:

Listen to ABC on October 8th, Tuesday at 10 p.m. Eastern Time for the upcoming episode of High Potential. This will follow a two-hour episode of Dancing with the Stars Season 33 starting at 8 p.m. ET. You can also stream the series on Hulu, and don’t forget to catch It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 16 as well.
