Despite being widely regarded as the greatest tennis player in history (GOAT), it’s the baseball diamond that’s influencing Serena Williams’ autumn fashion choices.

The new Serena Williams x Nike collaboration offers a capsule collection that blends baseball motifs, Los Angeles architectural influences, and vintage varsity accents for a stylishly athletic-elegant assortment. The women’s range spans from $24 to $180 and features items such as a bomber jacket modeled after a tennis ball, embellished with embroidery and chenille patches; oversized baseball tops with coordinating open-hem trousers; retro-inspired shorts adorned with “Los Angeles” embroidery on the back; and stretchy cutout tank tops, among others.

As a devoted fan, I’m captivated by the apparel line that boasts timeless black with a metallic flair, along with deep red and dark peach hues. The collection also showcases an all-white Victory Tech sneaker, enhanced with mesh details, understated gold hardware, and intriguing sculptural components reminiscent of the City of Angels. To top it off, these sneakers carry words of wisdom straight from Williams herself.

Williams recruited soccer stars such as Deyna Castellanos from Venezuela, Carson Pickett of Orlando Pride, and England women’s national team captain Leah Williamson for their campaign associated with the collection. Additionally, Dawn Staley, coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team, was also involved. The autumn SWDC x Nike series is an extension of Williams’ long-standing collaboration with the sports apparel brand launched in 2019 to promote diversity within design.

2024 saw me, a gamer with diverse passions, honored by Glamour magazine as one of their Global Women of the Year. This recognition came thanks to my venture capital firm, Serena Ventures, which primarily invests in businesses founded by women or people of color. Beyond that, I’ve been vocal about issues close to my heart such as Black maternal health and equality in sports. In addition, I run a beauty line, Wyn, offering makeup products in 36 shades, catering to various skin tones, and a body care brand, Will Perform, designed for active lifestyles.

Outside of tennis courts and corporate offices, her titles extend to various areas. She is an International UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, a film producer (collaborating with her sister Venus Williams on the biopic “King Richard,” inspired by their father), and surprisingly, a certified nail technician as well. These are just a few of her accomplishments.
