The direction this movie seems to be taking doesn’t quite resonate with me. To me, my connection to the DC Universe has been limited to those two films.
Although it might appear that a future crossover with another character would be a smart move based on potential ticket sales, it’s clear that the Joker movies by Phillips deviate from the typical structure and guidelines of most DC Universe films, which often seem overly focused on franchise requirements.
It remains uncertain if Warner Bros will initiate a campaign for Lady Gaga to win an award, but it appears that the roles of the Joker and Gotham City as portrayed by Phoenix and Phillips could reach their conclusion. There’s a possibility for a new director to take charge of a Harley Quinn spin-off, although it seems rather improbable given Lady Gaga’s commitment to the project based on the strong script written by Silver and Phillips.
