Porsche Teams Up with Almond for "Made in California" Surfboard Collection

As a lifelong Cali-surf-and-Porsche enthusiast, this collaboration between Porsche and Almond Surfboards has me riding the perfect wave of excitement! Growing up, I’d watch those classic ’60s Porsches zoom down the Pacific Coast Highway while dreaming of catching a gnarly swell. Now, these beautiful surfboards are not just a nod to that iconic era but also a testament to the enduring spirit of Southern California’s surf culture and Porsche’s automotive legacy.

Porsche has collaborated with Almond Surfboards to unveil a special collection of surfboards, commemorating the essence of Southern California’s surfing tradition and Porsche’s automotive history. These boards have been meticulously created in Costa Mesa, California, and they showcase iconic Porsche 911 colors from the 60s such as Bahama Yellow, Polo Red, Irish Green, and the renowned Pink Pig racing design.

Each board carries its unique identification and can be personalized with racing numbers. These longboards are offered in two dimensions: the 7’10” Cash-Yew II and the 9’11” Surf Thumb model. Crafted from polyurethane foam and encased in a fiberglass casing, they come equipped with a single fin that has been hand-polished and a wooden bracket for wall mounting as a display piece.

The surfboards come accompanied by a collection of clothing items, such as t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, caps, and keychains. This assortment is themed around “Single Fins & Air Cooled Engines.” Karsten von Engeln, the President and CEO of Porsche Design of America, views this collaboration as a celebration of Porsche’s ties to California. Dave Allee, founder of Almond Surfboards, commends the partnership for its emphasis on both craftsmanship and timeless design.

You can purchase the surfboards and coordinating line of products right away through Porsche’s main online store. Prices for these items vary between $15 and $5,500 USD.
