Atelier Wen's Perception Millésime "睦"(Mù) Is an Ode to Kinship

As a passionate horology enthusiast who has had the privilege of admiring and owning some truly exquisite timepieces, I must say that Atelier Wen’s Perception Millésime “睦“ has managed to captivate my attention like no other. The brand’s commitment to community-focused concepts and their dedication to craftsmanship is truly commendable.

Artisan studio Atelier Wen has recently introduced “Mù”, their first independent, limited-run timepiece which also kickstarts their unique project. From this moment forward, the studio will reveal an annual Millésime edition in a restricted number, where each piece emphasizes a community-oriented theme or message.

In its initial release for the project, this watch captures the feeling of camaraderie perfectly through an appropriate title, as the character “睦” represents harmony and friendship. Adorned in royal purple, the dial showcases the company’s distinctive écaille de poisson guilloché pattern, further enhanced by a 40mm titanium case and band. The indices reflect the dark metallic tones of the design, along with a luminous Chinese huiwen-patterned chapter ring and slim, leaf-shaped hands.

Similar to past designs by Atelier Wen, the caseback bears an image of the Chinese guardian lion, with its mouth acting as a viewport revealing the self-winding mechanism and violet rotor within.

From October 7th to 21st, you’ll have the opportunity to pre-order the Perception Millésime “睦” on Atelier Wen’s website. Deliveries are expected to start around May 2025. This stylish timepiece costs $3,588 USD and will also be available for purchase at select pop-ups and events.

Customers who complete an order will automatically be entered into a lottery, where three winners will be chosen at random to receive a unique preliminary model of the watch, enclosed in tantalum – a material renowned for its challenging nature to work with. This demonstrates the exceptional skills in watchmaking at Atelier Wen, as these prototypes not only incorporate tantalum in the watch casings but also utilize it for the accompanying bracelets.
