As a longtime fan of both spicy food and superhero movies, I must say that Venom’s Hot Ones challenge was a delightful blend of the two worlds! It’s not every day you see an alien symbiote taking on the heat of the world’s hottest sauces, let alone one voiced by the talented Tom Hardy.
Last month, it was Beetlejuice taking on the Hot Ones challenge in the name of movie promotion, and now it is Venom’s turn to step up to the table and, in his own words, gobble down something that is “like licking Satan’s nut sack.” Yes…even Venom has issues with that top-level hot sauce in a hilarious bit of marketing for the upcoming .
In an intriguing video that’s worth watching multiple times, it appears Venom (once more voiced by ) plunges headfirst into the most scorching hot sauce available. He acknowledges that the sauce makes everyone cry, but Venom retorts, “We don’t cry,” before coating a chicken wing with the fiery mixture and swallowing it whole. Right now, “Venom: The Last Dance” appears poised to be the top-grossing and most popular film in Sony’s Venom trilogy. It might mark Tom Hardy’s final outing as the Spider-Man antagonist with a grand finale. Although it may be challenging for critics to appreciate the last installment any more than its predecessors (the 2018 “Venom” earned a 30% Tomatometer score, while “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” scored 57%), audiences seem to find it more appealing. Consequently, the Venom series has become Sony’s most successful spin-off from the Spider-Man universe.
