In the upcoming season of “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”, several characters from last season are set to reappear. This includes Anna Sawai, who recently won an Emmy award. The series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” primarily centered around the character Godzilla following the 2014 film, appears to be introducing the MonsterVerse’s other main character, Kong, in Season 2. The first season finale hinted at a time jump to the year 2017, which is two years before the events of “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.” Apex Cybernetics has established a base on Skull Island during this period. Given that Skull Island serves as a key location and Kong seems poised to play a significant role, many enthusiasts are anticipating appearances by older versions of characters from “Kong: Skull Island,” namely Mason Weaver and James Conrad, who were portrayed by Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston in the original film.
The addition of Midthunder to the cast of “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” could pave the way for her character to become integral to the overall storyline. With “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” receiving a second season and AppleTV+ simultaneously greenlighting a spin-off series within the MonsterVerse, Midthunder’s role might link to one of these spin-offs or potentially see her feature in the next Godzilla and Kong collaboration movie.
