Featuring Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary, this 2018 production was brought back to cinemas on August 9, 2024, following requests from fans. Interestingly, Triptii shared that her co-star, Avinash, went without food to better understand Qais’ mentality and continued embodying his character even after filming had wrapped up.

In a fresh episode of The Ranveer Show, Triptii Dimri discussed her collaboration with Avinash Tiwary on the movie Laila Majnu. Impressed by Avinash’s commitment to portraying Qais/Majnu, Triptii couldn’t help but express her admiration for his dedication.

In a recent reveal, the actress who played Laila Majnu disclosed that Avinash dedicated an astonishing “five hundred percent” to the 2018 film. She also shared an interesting detail about her co-star; before filming any other scenes for the movie, Avinash had already shot the sequence depicting Qais discovering Laila’s demise.

Apparently, Avinash displayed some signs of nervousness on his face, as he had formulated a plan in his mind. To prepare for this role, he chose to deprive himself of food, aiming to adopt the mindset and portray the character of Majnu both on and off-screen,” Tara recalled, referring to her co-star in the film “Animal.

Triptii stated that she learnt a lot from him during the making of Sajid Ali’s directorial.

In a conversation, the actress from Bad Newz shared her experiences working with Avinash Tiwary during scenes where his character transitions into the Majnu phase. Reflecting on the final scene’s bed sequence, Triptii mentioned that witnessing him as Majnu in that moment was intense. She praised him as an exceptional actor and commented that he stayed in character even after the camera stopped rolling.

Triptii pointed out that one of the delightful aspects of acting is being able to experience the life of a character and become part of their narrative.

Triptii Dimri discussed a challenging scene from Laila Majnu, where Avinash portrayed Qais by kneeling before Laila after a prolonged separation. The actress recalled this scene as particularly emotional for her, as Avinash’s genuine and sincere acting made it hard not to shed tears during the sequence.
