As a long-time fan who has grown up with the original cast recording of Wicked, I must say that this new trailer has left me absolutely spellbound! Ever since I first heard “Defying Gravity” back in my college days, I’ve been enchanted by the tale of Elphaba and Galinda. And now, to see Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande breathe life into these iconic roles is simply magical.

In simple terms, the latest commercial for the forthcoming “Wicked” movie offers a sneak peek at the musical numbers that enthusiasts will be treated to.

The brief one-minute teaser features the well-known “Defying Gravity” tune, along with other numbers like “Popular,” “Dancing Through Life,” “The Wizard and I,” and “What is this Feeling.” It also gives glimpses of the star-studded cast, including Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, and Jonathan Bailey, who will be portraying Elphaba, Galinda, Madame Morrible, the Wizard of Oz, and Fiyero Tigelaar, respectively.

Back in the day, I stumbled upon this captivating retelling, a musical adaptation from 2003 that delves into the untold tales of two iconic characters – Elphaba and Galinda – before they earned their infamous titles as the Wicked Witch of the West and Good Witch of the East.
