WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) had a major impact on our childhood memories, mesmerizing TV audiences with thrilling wrestling bouts that were full of unexpected plot twists. Despite being largely scripted to make violence appear authentic, there’s more than meets the eye when the camera is off, such as the tales about the man who ran it all, Vince McMahon.
For those well-versed in McMahon’s personal life, the accusations against him are no secret, often dismissed as mere gossip. But Netflix’s recent docuseries, titled “Mr. McMahon“, sheds light on the founder of WWE, possibly shocking many fans. Despite this, most of these disclosures present a significantly darker portrait of the man who brought joy to our childhoods.

Vince McMahon’s Untold Sexual Allegations
In episode six, it was uncovered that Mr. McMahon may have been involved in the trafficking of former employee Janel Grant, who filed a lawsuit against him in January 2024. This shocking allegation suggests that not only was Grant assaulted by McMahon, but her trafficking was used to strengthen business relationships with influential figures and recruit new talent for WWE. The lawsuit also implicates other high-ranking WWE officials, such as UFC star Brock Lesnar and current WWE president Nick Khan. Remarkably, this legal action led to Vince McMahon’s resignation from the WWE, fueling further speculation that ultimately resulted in Netflix’s documentary.
These few accusations are enough to permanently damage his reputation beyond repair, but according to the docuseries, one of Vince’s early victims spoke out decades ago. Rita Chatterton, WWE’s first female referee, says she was raped by Vince in his limousine in 1986, which she discussed on The Gerald Rivera Show in 1992, but her lawsuit received little to no attention due to the infamous ring boy scandal and steroid trial that transpired around the same time.

The series refers to this as a “pedophile ring,” and there are claims that Vince was aware and even complicit in these heinous acts, although he himself did not participate directly.
Contrarily to the rumors, Vince disputed them, stating that the New York Post reporter involved in the story held a grudge against him. However, this move backfired when a few ex-ring boys spoke out, alleging sexual abuse by those in charge – claims yet unproven. Nevertheless, in the film Mr. McMahon, Bret Hart asserted that the incident was ignored, and the boys were threatened with dismissal if they didn’t follow the rules.
