As a movie enthusiast who’s had the pleasure of witnessing some truly captivating stories unfold on the silver screen, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about the upcoming film “500 Miles”. The stellar cast, led by Bill Nighy, Roman Griffin Davis, Maisie Williams, and the talented newcomers Clare Dunne, Michael Socha, and Dexter Sol Ansell, promises an unforgettable cinematic journey.
Actress Clare Dunne from Ireland (“Herself”, “Kin”), Michael Socha known for his role in “Once Upon a Time” (also appearing in “Showtrial” and “This Is England”), and Dexter Sol Ansell, who appeared in the “Game of Thrones” prequel titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”, have joined Bill Nighy, Roman Griffin Davis from the acclaimed film “Jojo Rabbit”, and Maisie Williams of “Game of Thrones” fame, in the road movie “500 Miles”. Filming for this project has begun in Ireland.
Under the guidance of director Morgan Matthews, who previously worked on ‘X+Y’ and ‘Williams’, the film ‘500 Miles’ explores the journey of a fractured family as they are compelled to reunite.
“This film is an uplifting road adventure about two siblings, Finn (Davis) and his energetic little brother Charlie (Ansell), who embark on a voyage across both land and sea. Their destination? The breathtaking and untamed western coast of Ireland, where they hope to reunite with their long-lost grandfather (Nighy).
This film is a collaborative effort between Origin Pictures, Port Pictures, and Minnow Films. Alongside them, Head Gear Films and Metrol Technology, LipSync, Sampsonic Media, Coimisiún na Meán, and RTÉ are contributing to its production.
TrueBrit Entertainment, an autonomous distribution company run by ex-CEO of Lionsgate U.K., Zygi Kamasa, had earlier procured the distribution rights for the United Kingdom and Ireland, which were originally held by international sales agency, Beta Cinema.
Kamasa stated that the movie ‘500 Miles‘ is uniquely engaging, heartwarming, and intense, carrying a massive emotional impact that is likely to strike a chord with moviegoers throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland,” said Kamasa.
