Amazon to Expand Ads on Prime Video to Major New Markets Next Year

As a seasoned gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the virtual worlds of Amazon Prime Video, I must confess my initial skepticism towards the influx of advertisements in 2025. Amazon plans to grow its Prime Video advertisement sector by introducing adverts in five significant new regions starting from the next year.

In 2025, advertisements are set to be introduced on Prime Video across India, Brazil, Japan, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. This announcement was made during Amazon’s UnBoxed conference held in Austin, Texas.

In these countries – the United States, Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, and the U.K. – Amazon already displays ads on Prime Video. Users in those regions can opt to pay a small monthly fee to enjoy an ad-free experience. This same arrangement will apply to the new countries as well.

Amazon claims that introducing ad-supported markets will sustain the continuous production of engaging content for an extended duration, benefiting brands of various scales by enabling them to reach new audiences in different nations.

Amazon’s advertising business has been a massive force, swiftly taking the lead in the industry when it integrated ads into Prime Video earlier this year. Predictions suggest that the company will slightly boost its ad content next year too. This year, Amazon secured a staggering $1.8 billion in advance payments for advertisements on its streaming video platform, which is an impressive figure for such a service.

2025 will see us extending the chance for more global brands to interact with Prime Video viewers, alongside top-rated shows, movies, sports events, and fan favorites.
