As a lifelong WWE fan who’s been through the rollercoaster of wrestling drama, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and skepticism about the latest rumors swirling around Brock Lesnar‘s potential return. On one hand, it’s been a while since we’ve seen The Beast Incarnate in action, and his absence has left a noticeable gap on the roster. On the other, I’ve learned to take these rumors with a grain of salt – after all, I still haven’t forgotten about that time Vince McMahon claimed Big Show was retiring only for him to show up at a house party I attended three months later.
On the current WWE main roster, there are numerous legendary wrestlers who aren’t getting enough spotlight. It seems plausible that the WWE might not recognize this situation, as rumors swirl about another missing star returning to shows like Monday Night Raw and others. There’s a strong possibility that Brock Lesnar could make a comeback to the WWE, given the recent theories supporting this idea.
Since the end of Brock Lesnar’s feud with Cody Rhodes during SummerSlam 2023, he has been absent from the WWE. However, there is a possibility that we might catch a glimpse of him in future WWE events or when Monday Night Raw becomes available on Netflix.
A Recent Monday Night Raw Mentioned Brock Lesnar Indirectly Twice
It’s typical for hints about a wrestler returning, such as Brock Lesnar, to be subtly dropped during shows like Monday Night Raw or SmackDown. On the recent episode of Monday Night Raw, some very subtle references to Lesnar were made that I didn’t even catch while watching.
If you didn’t catch it earlier, take a look at the videos below where Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes referred to him as “The Beast” using his nickname.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’d admit I’d be less skeptical if it were just a single nod in his direction. But two heavyweights dropping his name? That’s more than a coincidence to me. It’s got my gamer brain whirring, and I can’t help but wonder if we might catch a surprise Brock Lesnar appearance on a Pay-Per-View event that Peacock Premium subscribers will be able to stream by the end of 2024.
Why Some Believed Lesnar Was Finished With The WWE
From SummerSlam 2023 when Brock Lesnar left until now, there have been significant events in the WWE sphere. Notably, a former employee of WWE, Janel Grant, filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon. The accusations detailed some extremely disturbing actions by the ex-CEO, one of which was McMahon asking Grant to create sexually suggestive content for Brock Lesnar. This was supposedly intended to persuade Lesnar to join WWE when he wasn’t already associated with the company.
Previously, it was rumored that Lesnar would participate in the 2024 Royal Rumble event. However, this didn’t materialize, and since then, we haven’t witnessed the ex-champion inside the ring. The WWE has never explicitly confirmed anything about his return, but Sports Illustrated and other sources have reported that the company distanced itself from Lesnar by discreetly removing his likeness from the cover of WWE 2K24 game.
If Brock Lesnar might be making a comeback, there’s an intriguing query as to why the WWE seems more welcoming of his return now compared to before. However, it’s essential to note that we can’t confirm if he’ll actually return. Nonetheless, those who speculate that the company is subtly hinting at it on their shows likely aren’t merely inventing stories.
When Might Brock Lesnar Return?
If Brock Lesnar might make a comeback, it’s noteworthy that the Royal Rumble is scheduled for February. Even though it seems far off now, there’s also a possibility of an earlier return at Survivor Series. Given the robust WWE roster, if he does come back, there should be a well-thought-out plan to explain his reappearance.
Amid all the events unfolding in WWE, it seems there are two potential narrative openings that could naturally accommodate Brock Lesnar.
One way to rephrase the given text could be: “The first solution might involve creating a scenario where both Gunther and Cody Rhodes are at the peak of their powers as Heavyweight champions. To prevent either from losing at Crown Jewel, you could introduce an unexpected intrusion by another competitor during their match, causing a disqualification. I propose Brock Lesnar for this role, especially if he manages to hinder Gunther from defeating Cody Rhodes. This would set the stage for a potential showdown between them at WrestleMania.
Additionally, there seems to be potential for Bronson Reed, who has made a name for himself as a formidable figure in WWE, to face off against one of the biggest names in the league – The Beast Incarnate. It remains to be seen if this potential matchup will materialize and if WWE decides to reintroduce one of its most prominent stars.
To see if these rumors prove to be true, Monday Night Raw airs on USA on Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET.
