Elsbeth, originally stemming from a legal drama, resonated strongly with fans of Matlock due to Carrie Preston portraying Elsbeth Tascioni on The Good Wife (winning an Emmy in 2013) and subsequently continuing the character in The Good Fight spinoff. However, it’s important to note that Matlock is not a replica of either of those shows; the series premiere itself demonstrated that Kathy Bates’ Matty possesses numerous unpredictable tactics that aren’t immediately apparent.
