Bloober Team Reveals Its Next Project After The Silent Hill 2 Remake; It’s Even Creepier

As a seasoned gamer who has navigated through countless eerie corridors and shadowy landscapes, I can hardly contain my excitement for Bloober Team’s latest offering – Cronos: The New Dawn. Having been captivated by their exceptional work on the Silent Hill 2 remake, I find myself eagerly anticipating this new venture into the survival horror genre, albeit with a slight reservation about that title.

Story Highlights

  • Bloober Team made an appearance during Xbox’s Partner Program, revealing its new game after Silent Hill 2.
  • The latest project of the Polish developer is titled Cronos: The New Dawn, and it releases next year.
  • The Silent Hill 2 remake, on the other hand, is yet to come out on the Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Currently, Bloober Team is swamped with work since they’ve immediately started on a new project following Silent Hill 2. During Xbox’s Partner Preview showcase, this Polish developer unveiled another title in development – Cronos: The New Dawn. This upcoming game seems intriguing and suspenseful, but I have reservations about the name choice for the game.

For Bloober Team, this original franchise in the survival horror genre marks their initial attempt. Although they’ve captivated many fans with their remake of Silent Hill 2, it’s important to recognize that creating a new intellectual property (IP) from scratch is a much different challenge compared to remaking an existing title like Silent Hill 2. Still, given their past successes, it seems likely they will deliver another hit with this project.

Experience the heart-racing, third-person survival horror game, “Cronos: The New Dawn,” brought to you by Bloober Team! Journey into the core of a fierce battle against relentless adversaries as you explore the enigmas of a warped tale that intertwines time travel. Immerse yourself in a bleak universe where Eastern European grimness collides with futuristic technology, offering an enthralling narrative that bridges past and future events.

It’s evident that Cronos takes influence from various games currently available, notably The Callisto Protocol and Dead Space. The trailer introduces a grotesque creature, a character in an environmental suit who appears to be the main character, a woman engaging in a game of chess with said character, and a chilling ambiance that’s as uninviting as one can get.

It comes out next year for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Bloober Has Proved Itself With The Quality Of The Silent Hill 2 Remake

Although it hasn’t hit Xbox shelves just yet, the Silent Hill 2 remake is an homage to the 2001 original masterpiece, largely due to the dedicated work of Bloober Team in bringing this piece to life. Known for games such as Layers of Fear and Observer, Silent Hill 2 is a unique project that Bloober hasn’t tackled before, which likely added significant stress to their development process.

It’s fair to conclude that Silent Hill 2 has been extremely successful, as it sold more than a million copies within a single week. This strong sales performance significantly bolsters Bloober’s credibility and makes them a promising choice for handling future Silent Hill remakes.
