seconde/seconde/ And Spinnaker Reunite for a Halloween-Ready Watch Collaboration

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for unique and quirky timepieces, the new Spinnaker x seconde/second Fleuss 40 Automatic collaboration has truly caught my eye! Having grown up playing games like “Ghostbusters” and “Silent Hill,” the Halloween vibe of these watches resonates deeply with me.

After achieving great results from their previous partnership, Spinnaker and seconde/seconde have joined forces yet again to infuse the Fleuss 40 Automatic with a blend of playful and eerie elements. This new collaboration introduces not just one, but two unique styles: Phantom Classic and Phantom No App, both showcased in a purple and orange color scheme that perfectly matches their Halloween ambiance.

Following last year’s “Fifty Phantoms”, the latest Phantom Classic presents an upgraded design boasting 50 custom-sculpted specters on its face. Unlike the earlier version with more conventional ghostly shapes, this new version offers leaner and neater profiles for the ghosts. Additionally, these ghosts are imbued with a blend of blue and green Super-LumiNova, resulting in a visual effect that mimics a depth of field.

In contrast to Phantom No App, its dial design deviates significantly, opting for a minimalist aesthetic instead. The most striking ornamentation can be found above the 6 o’clock position and resembles a revolving caution light. This motif is reminiscent of “no radiation” signs, featuring the phrase “NO APPARITIONS” as embellishment. Upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that the bezel is adorned with luminous figures that appear to have escaped from the dial, resembling ghostly apparitions.

Additionally, the eerie design carries over to the watch’s open caseback too. Across all versions, there is a solitary ghostly figure positioned at the heart of the caseback. Moreover, the periphery of the rotor is adorned with a red dripping liquid-like graphic for added detail.

Absolutely, this concept watch includes a seasonal feature, but what truly delights me is observing people wearing it and finding joy in it throughout the year,” Romaric André shares with TopMob, expressing his affinity for items that initially appear unsuitable yet unexpectedly fit seamlessly.

The new Fleuss 40 Automatic seconde/seconde 2024 Editions are priced at $445 USD, every unit comes in special packaging, complete with a leather strap, a rubber strap, a special-edition cap and a complimentary UV torch. The first 1,000 examples will be available to pre-order through Spinnaker on October 25, while the remaining units will be available via global retailers.
