On October 1, 2024, Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was unexpectedly hospitalized at Criticare Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai, due to an emergency surgery following an accidental discharge of his legal firearm, causing a wound on his leg. Later, Anupam Kher posted a video on Instagram where he is seen conversing with Govinda’s brother and reassuring the public that the actor is recovering well after the unintentional injury, expressing relief in the process.

We had an engaging conversation about various topics, including the health update on my friend and his sibling, Govinda, who is recovering from a leg injury.

According to the Indian Express, it was when Govinda was getting ready to travel to Kolkata that the accident took place. Later, his manager, Shashi Sinha, disclosed details about the incident and assured everyone that Govinda’s condition stabilized afterwards.
The accident took place when Govinda was putting his licensed revolver in a cupboard, and it accidentally fell, discharging a bullet. Shashi explained that the injury was below Govinda’s left knee, but the bullet had been removed.

He expressed, “Greetings, respects. This is Govinda speaking. It’s through your blessings, my parents’ blessings, and the grace of my guru that I’m still here. I was wounded, but the bullet has been taken out. I am profoundly grateful to the doctors in this place, particularly Dr. Agarwal. Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement.
In March of 2024, Govinda made his latest TV appearance, acting as a judge on the popular dance competition series Dance Deewane. During this stint, he often shared tales from his flourishing career in Bollywood.
After the end of the show, he shifted his focus towards politics and has since then participated actively in numerous events related to the Shiv Sena party.
