‘Those Movies Are Insane’: Anna Kendrick Praises A Simple Favor’s Paul Feig, Teases The Sequel’s Craziness

As a devoted fan who’s had the pleasure of immersing myself in the whimsical world of Paul Feig’s creations since the hilarious days of Bridesmaids, I can confidently say that the upcoming A Simple Favor 2 is a comedy goldmine waiting to unfurl its tantalizing twists. Anna Kendrick‘s recent remarks about the sequel have only served to heighten my anticipation for this intriguing follow-up.

A likely contender for the 2025 movie lineup is “A Simple Favor 2”. Following the success of its predecessor released in 2018, starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, director Paul Feig has reunited the duo for another delightful crime-thriller. Kendrick recently shared updates about the sequel while we eagerly anticipate the release date for “A Simple Favor 2”.

Hey there fellow gamers! I’ve got some exciting news to share – I, Anna Kendrick, am stepping into a new role as a director with my debut film, “Woman Of The Hour.” You can catch it streaming on Netflix starting this weekend. Recently, while chatting with the hosts on The Jess Cagle Show (available on YouTube), they asked me about potentially directing the sequel instead of Feig now that I’ve got some directorial experience under my belt. Here’s what I had to say:

It’s beyond my understanding how those films manage to be so captivating. Trust me on this. With each movie, I found myself constantly questioning, “Paul, is this coherent? Is this acceptable?” Because frankly, those movies are incredibly complex, which makes me grateful that I’m not the one responsible for their creation. Paul has a unique creative mind that somehow pulls everything together in a way that defies logic, making it work despite the seemingly impossible elements. So, I’m deeply appreciative that Paul was willing to work on the second film as well.

On the radio show, Kendrick expressed that she wouldn’t dream of replacing her director for “A Simple Favor” because he skillfully balances the film’s unique blend of comedy and drama. Beyond “A Simple Favor,” it’s Paul Feig who masterminded the blockbuster success of films like “Bridesmaids,” as well as “The Heat” and “Spy.” Without a doubt, his mind is truly extraordinary!

While the radio hosts expressed their fondness for the original film, Anna Kendrick hinted at some exciting news regarding the upcoming sequel, using her own words to do so.

Well, you’re in for a treat because the second one really ups the ante. I can promise you that.
