The Indian adaptation of the U.S. show “Citadel,” titled “Honey Bunny” with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is nearly ready for release. The trailer has left viewers in awe. Notably, Priyanka Chopra, who plays the original spy character, has watched the series. More recently, Varun shared Priyanka’s feedback on the show, while Samantha discussed their meeting at the London premiere.
During a chat with News18 Showsha, Varun Dhawan shared that Priyanka Chopra expressed great enthusiasm for the upcoming series Citadel: Honey Bunny. In fact, he mentioned that she held the production in high regard and had several positive comments to share about it.
Back in September 2024, Samantha Ruth Prabhu graced a special screening of the films “Citadel: Honey Bunny” and “Citadel: Diana (Italian)” held in London. Notably, she took memorable photos with Priyanka Chopra and Matilda De Angelis at the event.
During the interview, Samantha spoke highly of Priyanka, expressing admiration for her. She characterized PC as ‘kind, comforting, and nurturing.’ In addition, Sam referred to Matilda as ‘charming’ and mentioned their frequent interactions on Instagram. As for her personal experience, she stated, “The evening was delightful and warm. It seemed like a gathering of powerful women.
In the course of their discussion, it was disclosed by Citadel: Honey Bunny’s director Raj that Priyanka had been a constant source of support all through the production process. He added that she connected with them via Zoom during the Covid-19 pandemic to grasp the characters and their relationship dynamics.
Besides Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu playing the main characters, the Indian series also features Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, and Kashvi Majmundar as part of the cast.
Under the guidance of directors Raj and DK, the series titled “Citadel: Honey Bunny” was created by Sita R. Menon. This production is a joint effort between D2R Films and Amazon MGM Studios. The Russo Brothers’ company AGBO, along with Raj and DK, serve as executive producers. The much-anticipated series is scheduled to debut on Amazon Prime Video on November 7, 2024.
