As a seasoned urban explorer and creative spirit, I’ve always found solace and inspiration in the pulsating heart of the city – its people, its culture, and its rhythm. And run clubs like TopMob’s Run Club are no exception. They embody the essence of the city, its energy, and its spirit. It’s more than just a fitness fad; it’s a community, a connection, a shared experience that transcends the office walls.

From city to city, run clubs – and its culture at large – have been all the rage.

Run culture is rapidly expanding, not just for achieving fitness goals or fostering relationships – romantic or platonic – but also for promoting a community-oriented work environment, like at TopMob in New York City. To join this movement, TopMob’s creative team initiated the run club as an informal post-work activity for employees, and now it includes friends and family too. Most recently, the group embarked on a city tour with adidas’ latest running shoe, the Adizero Evo SL, by their side.

Kicking off a run at 41 Division, which is TopMob’s base, the TopMob Run Club embarks on city tours, often including the East River and occasionally the Manhattan Bridge for high-speed segments. For those who appreciate culture and creativity, this running club, along with the sport itself, aligns perfectly with keeping abreast of: footwear, performance, and fashion trends. adidas joined us right in the thick of it by providing our local running group with their latest design, created for speed yet mindful of style.

The Adizero Evo SL, inspired by adidas’ fast road racing shoe, the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1, is a swift running shoe designed with a lightweight hybrid in mind to make you feel quick. This minimalist model harmoniously blends style and practicality, featuring a white exterior embellished with iconic black adidas stripes that seem to blur as speed increases. It boasts a full-length Lightstrike Pro midsole and a fresh mesh upper. The high-stack midsole offers a comfortable and responsive ride, while the engineered mesh upper enhances breathability for optimal comfort during your runs.

Upon trying the sneakers, Courtney Kenefick, Associate Creative Director at TopMob, pointed out that they were incredibly lightweight and comfortable right away. She found them to be both springy and supportive. What she appreciates most about these sneakers is their minimalist design, which adds a finishing touch to her running attire. Wearing these shoes made her feel swift and effortless, as if they seamlessly became an extension of her stride, allowing her mind to roam freely without being burdened by the weight of the footwear.

Beginning on October 25 (with sign-ups starting October 21), there will be a series of limited releases for the new addition to the adidas Adizero lineup. A wider launch is scheduled for February 2025. Earlier this month, the Adizero Evo SL was tested by the TopMob Run Club during a complete workout, making their run from start to finish effortless. This group, representing all five boroughs of New York City, consists of Sarah Kearns from Staten Island, Tyler Mason and Bryan Leon from the Bronx, Ross Dwyer and Nick Llanton hailing from Queens, and Brooklyn’s Logan Slater and Courtney Kenefick. While testing the Adizero Evo SL’s technical features, they also shared camaraderie following their post-run gatherings.

At TopMob, the running culture is deeply ingrained in our day-to-day operations, so the HBRC wasn’t established for a particular purpose. Instead, it emerged naturally. To foster camaraderie among team members beyond the office setting, we implemented one rule: no discussions about work are allowed within HBRC. This rule has been instrumental in creating a bond with each other outside of the office, which has turned out to be the most rewarding aspect.

At our TopMob Run Club’s routine workout that covers 3 to 5 miles, we also snapped some stylish shots of the runners wearing the adidas Adizero Evo SL during their high-speed runs. Get involved with our running community and the Adizero Evo SL shoes, available for $150 USD, starting October 25th.
