Aldis Hodge Tricks Killer Into Confessing in ‘Cross’ Crime Thriller First Look

As a devoted fan of gripping crime thrillers, I can hardly contain my excitement for Aldis Hodge‘s portrayal of Detective Alex Cross in Prime Video’s upcoming series, “Cross”. Having delved into the intricate world of forensic psychology and the dark recesses of the human mind through various crime dramas, I can confidently say that this new offering promises to be a compelling addition to the genre.

In the initial glimpse of the Amazon Prime Video’s crime thriller series titled “Cross,” Aldis Hodge’s character, Detective Alex Cross, successfully coaxes a merciless serial killer into admitting to their crimes, an event showcased at New York Comic Con on Friday.

In the first-season episode, there’s a scene where Detective Cross interrogates a suspected murderer portrayed by Ryan Eggold. Despite the fact that the detective has previously disclosed his confession, the suspect maintains he won’t admit to anything.

Cross, who specializes in forensic psychology to crack cases, speaks to the cornered suspect. “I see you’ve picked up on Macbeth there,” he says. “But I’m afraid your luck with that line won’t help much in court,” the suspect responds, as Cross’ superiors and the District Attorney, observing through a one-way mirror, celebrate another case successfully closed.

In this gripping mystery, the protagonist, Hodges – a renowned detective from the Metro Police Department – delves deep into the thoughts and emotions of both killers and their victims, using his insights to track down and apprehend ruthless murderers. This story is inspired by characters from James Patterson’s successful Alex Cross book series.

Previously, a teaser trailer presented Cross being thrust into a lethal game while chasing a deranged mastermind adorned with a menacing mask, who may employ multiple assassins to evade his relentless detective counterpart. Co-starring alongside Hodge, Cross is joined by actors including Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford and Eggold.

The initial season of the show titled “Cross” will debut worldwide on November 14 on Amazon Prime Video. In anticipation of its upcoming release, the streaming platform has already greenlit a second season for the series. The creator and writer behind “Cross”, Ben Watkins, serves as the showrunner and executive producer, working under his Blue Monday Productions banner.

Alongside Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, Craig Siebels, Patterson, Bill Robinson, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost, the series is also executive-produced. The production companies responsible for this series are Amazon MGM Studios, Paramount Television Studios, and Skydance Television.
