The game was undeniably an exceptional action-adventure when it graced our screens in 2023, but it fell short in terms of post-launch content, which is something I’ve come to expect from games in this genre.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been an extraordinary action-adventure game since its release, however, it would be misleading to claim that people didn’t anticipate more from the game in the following year. Despite this, many fans continued to hold onto hope for any significant downloadable content related to Spider-Man 2, particularly after the notorious Insomniac cyberattack and data breach. However, it appears that the developer has shifted their direction since then.
As per Aaron Jason, Insomniac Games’ Community Manager, there will be no additional story content for Spider-Man 2. This news is particularly disappointing to many gamers since they had been anticipating downloadable content for this game.
In a recent announcement, Insomniac confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature brand-new skills like Symbiote Surge and Web Wings, as well as an extended version of Marvel’s New York with new boroughs and side missions to delve into. Although there are currently no plans for additional story content in the sequel, they’re thrilled to bring all previously released post-launch content to the PC edition. This includes New Game+, new suits and color options, enhanced Photo Mode features, and more.
To be completely honest, the story flow and content in Spider-Man 2 seems to fall slightly short when compared to the original Insomniac Spider-Man game. It’s important to note that this exceptional game didn’t miss out on any accolades at The Game Awards without a solid reason. I had hoped that the developers would compensate for these minor flaws by releasing a three-episode DLC, but it looks like that won’t be happening. Oh well.
Spider-Man 2 Makes Is Coming To PC Next Year
Despite the unfortunate news, it’s worth noting that PC gamers will still have the opportunity to enjoy one of the top-tier action-adventures on the market as early as January 30, 2025.
