As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for fashion and outdoor adventures, I can’t help but be thrilled about the 18 East x Nanga “Winter Trek” collection! Having traversed virtual mountains and tundras in countless games, I’ve always dreamt of experiencing the real deal. This collaboration seems to encapsulate the essence of that adventure – the rugged resilience, the earthy charm, and the cozy warmth needed for those chilly expeditions.

Approximately eleven months after their initial collaboration in November 2023, 18 East and Nanga have reunited for their second joint project: the robust “Winter Trek” series. This collection includes two collaborative jackets and a set of five complementary 18 East garments. The design is motivated by artisans residing in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and the tranquil charm of embarking on a winter expedition to meet them.

18 East has creatively revamped Nanga’s well-known Hooded Range Jacket and Lookout Jacket designs. The Hooded Range Jacket comes in a warm, earthy mocha shade, is crafted from 10dn recycled nylon, and is filled with 155g of Spanish duck down for extra warmth. Other notable features include… The Lookout Jacket, meanwhile, has been redesigned by 18 East following their collaboration earlier this year. It’s made from fire-resistant Japanese Takibi fabric, a material that Snow Peak apparel enthusiasts will recognize. Like its counterpart, it also offers water-repellant duck down insulation.

Regarding the non-down jacket pieces in the collection, the Banks Utility Fleece and Azzenden Fleece Pants are crafted from deep pile sherpa cotton that’s hand-block printed and 100% organic. The Banks Fleece has multiple pockets, and the Azzenden Pants have adjustable leg openings. The Tizi Mountain Shirt is made from handspun exploded ripstop cotton and offers four pockets. The TAC Cargo Pant draws inspiration from vintage climbing and military styles. Lastly, the Hirock Half Sleeve Crewneck provides a boxy, oversized fit with a unique crop and an asymmetrical snap pocket.

On October 25, head to Nanga’s flagship store in Harajuku to get the “Winter Trek” collection from 18 East. This collection will be available online through the 18 East webstore starting October 30 at 11 AM EST. Following that, you can also find it at 18 East’s New York City studio shortly thereafter.
