As a die-hard fan of gripping dramas and dark comedies, I am absolutely thrilled about the return of Apple TV+’s Bad Sisters for its second season! Having binge-watched the first season multiple times, I can’t help but feel like I’ve grown quite close to the Garvey sisters. Their resilience, humor, and sheer audacity to take matters into their own hands have left an indelible mark on me.
In the aftermath of the lethal events from season one, Apple TV+’s show “Bad Sisters” comes back for its second round, with the main sisters finding themselves under growing scrutiny and apprehension regarding their past actions.
In the trailer released on Tuesday, the women are initially spotted atop a cliff, opening the back of a car. Showrunner and star Sharon Horgan’s character, Eva, reassures them that everything will be fine. However, a glimpse into some of the anxieties hinted throughout the second season preview unfolds as the women are suddenly alarmed by something they discover inside the trunk.
The clip advances to show Grace, played by Anne-Marie Duff, getting married once more, this time to Ian, portrayed by Owen McDonnell. Meanwhile, Eva attempts to provide comfort, stating, “With all that’s passed, it seems we’re finally on an upward trajectory.
As Grace moves in rhythm with Roger (Michael Smiley), the man who assisted her in murdering her abusive husband J.P. (Claes Bang), he inquires if she ever ponders over their actions. Soon, he is seen in a gathering with the other sisters, where they inform him that they were all implicated, having collectively conspired to eliminate J.P. and subsequently supported Grace in concealing her crime.
Roger is also asked to speak about his “guilt” by season two’s curious newcomer Fiona Shaw.
Simultaneously, Grace is depicted expressing shock upon discovering a corpse inside a suitcase, as the luggage is unzipped to reveal its grim contents. The sisters are taken aback when they realize Grace hasn’t heard from Ian in two days, and Becka (Eve Hewson) reconnects with Matt (Daryl McCormack), who gently reminds her about the significant secret he kept hidden for her sake.
As anxiety and unease intensify, Sarah Greene’s character, Bibi, exclaims repeatedly, “This is terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible.” Eva responds, “We’re not secure.” Following Bibi’s confession over the phone about having disturbing thoughts concerning her own sister, the preview concludes with the sisters being questioned.
The second season of Bad Sisters will become available for streaming on Apple TV+ starting November 13, featuring a double premiere, followed by fresh episodes every week up until the finale on December 25.
Two years following Grace’s husband’s seemingly unfortunate demise, the Garvey sisters have attempted to move past their troubled past. However, when long-buried truths reemerge, the sisters find themselves under intense scrutiny once more.
