As an ardent fan of Bollywood, I’ve always been intrigued by the behind-the-scenes drama that often unfolds on sets. The tales of Neelam Kothari and Chunky Panday’s camaraderie during their early days in the industry are a testament to the turbulent yet endearing journey of our beloved stars.
In the 1980s, Neelam Kothari starred in numerous films, but in 2020, she made an impressive return to the spotlight through the reality series Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. Now, as they gear up for its third season, titled Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, Neelam Kothari has been busy with promotional activities. Recently, she reminisced about an incident during a movie scene where Chunky Panday was riding a bike and she accidentally fell off the vehicle while wearing her wedding dress. Neelam shared that she sustained a burn on her leg as a result of this accident.
In a recent chat with Galatta India, Neelam Kothari recounted a fun story about working alongside Chunky Panday during the filming of his first movie, Aag Hi Aag. Neelam discussed the ending scene where her character was close to marrying someone else. Chunky had to make a grand entrance on a motorcycle, acting as the typical hero, swoop her up from the altar, and ride off together.
The actress remembered that although she had been anxious about Chunky riding the bike, the actor persuaded her to join him for the ride instead.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, let me share an incident that recently occurred in my life. I found myself in a precarious situation due to someone’s reckless driving. He was traveling at such breakneck speeds that he lost control, and in the blink of an eye, I was propelled off my bike, along with my wedding dress. The motorbike came crashing down on me, leaving me in a state of shock.
In a different wording, it was recalled by Neelam that she advised Chunky Panday to employ a stand-in for the scene following the accident, but Chunky Panday countered by proposing he could execute the sequence personally instead.
In a casual rephrase, the actress from Hum Saath Saath Hain shared that she too felt like wanting to confront or possibly even scold him severely due to his habit of keeping her waiting during the shooting of the 1987 film, Aag Hi Aag.
Neelam mentioned that she was ready for filming following her make-up, retouching, and rehearsals. However, Chunky stepped away to use the restroom during the shoot. The actress from Aag Hi Aag explained that this required her to get ready and prepare once more for her scene.
In the very same promotional event, Chunky’s spouse, Bhavana Pandey (a prominent figure in Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives), disclosed that she played a crucial role in mending their relationship.
In addition to the initial cast members, Maheep Kapoor and Seema Sajdeh, Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives introduces fresh faces: Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kalyani Chawla, and Shalini Passi.
