Keke Palmer, SZA R-Rated Comedy Reveals Title and First Trailer

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through countless adventures, I can’t help but see a parallel between the gaming world and this upcoming movie, “One of Them Days.” In games, you often find yourself in tight spots, with resources dwindling and time running out. But it’s those moments that test your friendship, your resourcefulness, and your ability to keep laughing even when the odds are stacked against you.

Keke Palmer and SZA are ready to have One of Them Days.

As a gaming enthusiast eagerly anticipating the new year, I can’t help but share my excitement about the R-rated buddy comedy movie that Sony Pictures has officially titled. Set to hit theaters on January 24, 2025, this film is directed by none other than Lawrence Lamont and produced by TriStar Pictures. The script for this cinematic adventure was penned by Syreeta Singleton – a name synonymous with captivating storytelling in Hollywood. Can’t wait to see it unfold on the big screen!

Additionally, a trailer has been unveiled for the upcoming production featuring an ensemble cast that includes Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Maude Apatow, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, Patrick Cage, and Amin Joseph.

On one of those tough days, me and my bestie, Dreux (Palmer), along with our roommate Alyssa (SZA), found ourselves in a bind when we realized that Alyssa’s boyfriend had blown our rent money. With the clock ticking and eviction lurking around the corner, we embarked on a mad dash to find a solution, all while trying to preserve our friendship along the way.

The production team behind this project consists of Issa Rae and Sara Diya Rastogi from Hoorae, Deniese Davis from ColorCreative, Charles D. King from Macro Film Studios, James Lopez and Poppy Hanks, with Macro Film Studios also serving as the financial backer for the project, where Singleton acts as a co-producer. Palmer and Sharon Palmer of Big Boss are listed as executive producers.

The movie originated from Sony’s CoCre Lab, a past joint venture between the studio and ColorCreative, aiming to aid up-and-coming, diverse writers in conceptualizing unique feature film ideas.

Previously, Palmer emceed the 2022 edition of Saturday Night Live where SZA served as the musical artist.

More to come.
