- Zombiepunk: Fight & Survive sees you take on the undead menace
- Save the world in typical tower defence fashion by building up your defences
- A new take on the formula? Simple but effective? Let’s find out
As a seasoned survivor of countless zombie apocalypses, I must say that Zombiepunk: Fight & Survive has piqued my interest. The thought of blasting undead menaces to bloody scraps is always a delight, and the twist of exploration and on-foot combat adds a layer of excitement that’s reminiscent of Fortnite: Save the World, but with a more zombie-infested flair.
Is there a particular reason we find pleasure in eliminating zombies? Could it be due to the basic satisfaction of annihilating something that’s not entirely human, reducing it to bloody remnants? Or is it perhaps because it offers a more tangible sense of danger compared to robots or mythical creatures? Regardless of the reason, the tower defense genre has always been heavily influenced by zombies, as seen in games like Zombiepunk: Fight & Survive.
Luckily, Zombiepunk offers a slightly grittier experience compared to typical games. For starters, it’s not just a straightforward puzzle game in a top-down perspective; instead, you’ll be delving into an engaging, albeit compact, environment to scavenge resources and engage in foot combat with zombies. It leans more towards Fortnite: Save the World than Bloons TD in terms of depth and gameplay style.
In summary, although Zombiepunk may not offer a unique twist in the genre, it appears to maintain distinctive visuals and what seems to be difficult gameplay, offering a challenge to players.

The zombie survival genre is one of those that has a difficult time on mobile. Sure, stuff like 4X-MMO State of Survival has its place, but I feel there’s a genuine hunger for a simple, straightforward zombie game. And there are definitely some examples out there that Zombiepunk slots better alongside and that prove that all you need is a baseball bat, some solid walls and plenty of drooling undead to make a good time.
