Netflix Debuts Trailers for Two Raunchy Holiday Rom-Coms

As a seasoned movie enthusiast with over three decades of watching holiday films under my belt, I must say that Netflix has taken the Yuletide spirit to new heights this year. While the traditionally sugary sweet Christmas movies have always held a special place in our hearts, I find myself pleasantly surprised by the bold and daring direction Netflix has chosen for their 2024 holiday offerings.

It seems like the traditional, family-friendly Christmas movies we’ve grown accustomed to from Netflix every year might be a thing of the past. Instead, their 2024 holiday lineup appears to be packed with sexual undertones and shirtless male characters, designed to provoke a thrill. There won’t be any stories about city girls moving to charming towns to fall for handsome vets this time around. Instead, Netflix has decided to serve up male strippers and studly snowmen, leading one to wonder: Why are Netflix’s Christmas movies so surprisingly sensual this year?

Let’s first discuss Netflix’s inaugural holiday film scheduled for release on November 13, entitled “Hot Frosty“. In this movie, Lacey Chabert (known from “Mean Girls“) plays Kathy. The story revolves around a woman who has been mourning the loss of her husband for two years after his demise. Unexpectedly, she brings to life a muscular snowman, portrayed by Dustin Milligan (“Schitt’s Creek“). The narrative bears resemblance to “Cinderella“, with Milligan assisting Chabert in understanding the essence of Christmas and love before he permanently melts away.

According to the trailer, throughout the film, we encounter Milligan, a character who appears without clothes, dashing through a town adorned with holiday spirit. He flashes in front of elderly citizens and makes suggestive comments. He also casually suggests removing his clothing because, as a non-human character, he might not understand human norms. Despite its charming appeal, the movie may not be suitable for all audiences, especially families, as it could lead to awkward questions like, “Mommy, why is Frosty not wearing any clothes?

The Innuendos Continue in The Merry Gentlemen

As a lover of heartwarming holiday movies, I’m thrilled about the upcoming release of “The Merry Gentlemen” on Netflix, set to premiere on November 20. This delightful film stars the talented Britt Robertson, known for her roles in “Scream 4” and “Tomorrowland,” and Chad Michael Murray, a familiar face from “One Tree Hill” and “Sullivan’s Crossing.

In a somewhat curious turn of events, we’ve found ourselves pondering the reason behind the slightly risqué tone in some of Netflix’s Christmas movies this year compared to previous ones. While it’s true that eye-catching elements can draw viewers in, it seems there might be more factors at play here than just the appeal of well-toned male physiques.

There are some lighter options coming up with “Meet Me Next Christmas” (November 6) and “Our Little Secret” (November 27), so it’s not all innuendo and biceps – thank goodness! We hope this trend of offering a wider range of movies continues, as we’re growing tired of the same old stereotypes. Kudos to Netflix for thinking outside the box, Christmas-wise. Now, it’s your turn, Hallmark. Let’s see if you can serve up some fresh holiday movie choices!
