In a recent conversation, he shared that his eldest son, Zidaan, has respiratory problems and faced severe breathing complications at only three years old. The actor openly admitted that worries about Zidaan’s health have been a source of depression for him as a father.
In a recent chat on the YouTube show “Couple Of Things,” hosted by his old acting partner Amrita Rao and her husband, RJ Anmol, the star from The Main Hoon Naa opened up about a range of topics such as his professional journey, married life, and parenting experiences.
During the conversation, it was revealed their elder son, Zidaan Khan, has been dealing with serious respiratory problems. His illness often became life-threatening for him. Zayed Khan recalled an incident when he took his family to London, and his then 3-year-old son approached him when mentioned that he was unable to breathe.
Speaking about the event, he explained, “It was in London where he suffered a severe episode. He turned to me in distress, saying, ‘Dad, I need help, I can’t breathe.’ My wife is exceptionally capable in handling medical emergencies, and she swiftly dialed for an ambulance.
Upon admitting Zidaan, the nurse’s facial cues suggested doubt about his survival duration. Despite this, crucial injections were given to him. Additionally, surgeons stood by ready at a moment’s notice, making the complex circumstances hard for him to bear.
I can’t help but share my heart-wrenching experience: The sheer terror that gripped us was indescribable, knowing we faced the possibility of losing our child. Mercifully, after a torturous wait of a few hours, the steroids miraculously kicked in, sparing us the need for surgery.
Just like any other father, Khan was deeply troubled by the event and felt immense anguish seeing his son in distress. Losing a child struck a profound chord within him, plunging him into Depression. However, with time, he managed to pull himself out of it.
As a lifestyle expert, I can share a remarkable story that underscores resilience and determination. Despite the pessimistic outlook from the doctors regarding my son’s health conditions, I refused to let these limitations define his life. Today, my son is thriving and embracing outdoor activities as much as any other child. Contrary to the doctors’ expectations, he leads a healthy lifestyle that defies their predictions.
Zayed Khan is known as the child of longtime actor Sanjay Khan, and he’s also connected to Sussanne Khan, who was previously married to Hrithik Roshan. In the year 2005, he got married, and his spouse is Malaika. The couple is blessed with two sons – Zidaan, born in 2008, and Ariz, born in 2011.
