SZA and Keke Palmer Are Desperate For Rent Money in ‘One of Them Days’ Movie Trailer

As a fan who’s been following SZA and Keke Palmer‘s careers for years, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nostalgia seeing their buddy comedy “One of Them Days” finally getting an official trailer. I remember the day they announced it back in April 2024, right after SZA’s epic performance on SNL, hosted by none other than Keke Palmer herself.

Under the guidance of Lawrence Lamont and produced by Issa Rae, an upcoming movie will serve as SZA’s first appearance in feature films. The story revolves around SZA, portraying Alyssa, and her roommate Palmer, played by Dreux, who are best friends. Facing financial difficulties, they find out that Alyssa’s boyfriend squandered their rent money, forcing them to take drastic measures to avoid eviction. This predicament pushes the limits of their friendship as they resort to unusual strategies such as donating blood with character Janelle James (a newbie nurse), seeking a fast loan despite Katt Williams’ warnings, and more.

In the cast along with SZA, Palmer, James, and Williams, we have Maude Apatow, Lil Rel Howery, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, and Patrick Cage joining as well.

The news about their movie became public knowledge in April 2024, after SZA made an appearance on the Saturday Night Live episode that was hosted by Palmer.
