JLo And Ben Affleck Might Be Having Trouble Selling Their Hollywood Mansion, But Matthew Perry’s Just Sold For Millions One Year After His Death

As a gamer with a soft spot for ’90s sitcoms, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions upon reading about the recent real estate transactions involving Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck, and Matthew Perry. While I was never fortunate enough to own a multi-million dollar mansion like theirs, I have spent countless hours in the virtual worlds of video games, building, renovating, and selling my own digital properties.

Moving from one house to another usually means a significant shift in someone’s life. Perhaps your family has grown larger or you’ve moved due to a new job. However, there can also be less fortunate reasons for the move. For example, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck listing their home suggested they were on the verge of a divorce, and Matthew Perry selling his house reminded us that the actor from ‘Friends’ is no longer with us. Yet, despite Bennifer’s difficulties in offloading their expensive estate, Perry’s property has already been sold for a large sum.

Back in October, I sadly discovered that my beloved gaming sanctuary – a stunning Los Angeles home – had been taken from me forever. It seems this Pacific Palisades property has found a new owner in the form of Anita Verma-Lallian, a real estate developer and movie producer, who reportedly scooped it up for $8.55 million in an off-market deal. Just two years ago, I had proudly claimed ownership of this haven after paying $6 million for it. Alas, the game of life has moved on without me.

This spacious 3,500-square-foot residence boasts four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, nestled on a piece of land measuring approximately 0.4 acres. It is said that Matthew Perry undertook significant renovations on his property, including the installation of a swimming pool.

In 2023, JLo is said to have personally invested a significant amount of her earnings towards renovating the luxurious mansion that she and Ben Affleck bought jointly, valued at $60 million. Currently on sale for $68 million, they are parting ways with the property as they work through their divorce, which took place two years after their wedding without a prenuptial agreement.

For quite some time now, this property has been listed for sale on the market, and although there’s discussion about whether the $68 million price might be excessively high, Jason Oppenheim from “Selling Sunset” stated that it’s common for houses of such scale to require six months or more to locate a buyer. The real estate expert anticipates that the previous owners could incur a loss, as he forecasts the property will be sold below its asking price and will be subject to Los Angeles’ mansion tax.

The future owner of this expansive 5-acre property will find a luxurious abode boasting twelve bedrooms and twenty-four bathrooms, featuring fifteen fireplaces. Inside, you’ll discover a spa equipped with both hair and nail salons, a massage room, sauna, wine room, whiskey lounge, and a movie theater. In addition to the main house, there is a 5,000-square-foot sports facility situated separately on the grounds. The property is double-gated for maximum security of its owner.

It’s clear that the Affleck property dwarfs Matthew Perry’s in size; the latest reports suggest that the new owner intends to utilize it as a getaway retreat.

This past year marks the anniversary of the demise of the “Friends” actor, who tragically passed away at 54. Initially, his death was reported as a drowning incident. However, further investigations revealed that he had significantly high levels of ketamine in his system, which authorities suggested may have caused him to lose consciousness and subsequently slip underwater.

The actor freely discussed his battles with drug addiction, delving deeply into the topic in his memoir titled “Friends, Lovers, and One Big Terrible Thing.” Five individuals have since been taken into custody over the actor’s demise. If you wish to revisit Matthew Perry’s most humorous Chandler Bing moments, you can stream all 10 seasons of “Friends” with a Max membership. On the other hand, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have a number of enticing ventures slated for release in the 2025 movie lineup.
