During his 15-year stint at Balmain in Paris, Olivier Rousteing has made an indelible impact on the house by blending bold glamour with a dark, urban streetwear aesthetic. His latest men’s resort line celebrates the brand he has been part of for over a decade, as personal notes and his iconic biker styles are woven into the very fabric of this collection.
Balmain’s 2025 resort collection plays with its classic, powerfully tailored shapes by flipping them around in unexpected arrangements and optical illusion graphics. Alongside sharp-shouldered monochrome suits, blazers are combined with sections from leather biker jackets and worn-out denim trucker jackets. The ghostly image of Rousteing’s signature biker jeans is printed on the front and back of solid pants, while images of Balmain motorcycle jackets appear haphazardly on the front sides of solid tops.

A figure-hugging long-sleeve top adorned with shimmering sequins showcases an ideally toned male physique. The masterful touch of the creative director is most evident in a polished brass embellishment that weaves intricately through the bodice and sleeves of a black blazer, amplifying its sophistication. The colossal letters spelling “Amor” trace the lapels of another blazer, seemingly engulfing it with their grandeur. The grand finale of these bold ensembles is a tribute to Balmain’s timeless black-and-gold aesthetic, serving as a passionate missive from its long-standing designer.
