As a gamer who’s been through countless virtual jungles and epic quests, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the return of the Jumanji crew! Having grown up with the original film, it’s heartening to see this franchise evolve with such charm and wit.

I’m super psyched! Sony Pictures just announced that Jumanji 3 is coming to theaters on December 11, 2026. That’s a long wait, but it’ll be worth it because my favorite crew – Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan – are all set to return! And if that wasn’t exciting enough, Jake Kasdan, the genius behind the first two films, is coming back as director too. Can’t wait to see what adventures await us in Jumanji 3!
This year, Gillan admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that coordinating all aspects for the new movie proved to be quite a hurdle.
She mentioned that coordinating everyone’s schedules might be challenging, but aside from knowing that we’ll do it eventually, there haven’t been any other details shared. However, everyone is eager for it. We all enjoy working on those films, so it’s just a question of when the project will start.
In a 2022 interview with Virgin Radio, which was later published online, Johnson expressed his eagerness for the third film and stated that Kasdan was currently working on its development. Additionally, he hinted that this new movie might serve as the culmination of this particular franchise’s storyline.
