As a design enthusiast who has spent countless hours hunched over sketchbooks and poring over interior magazines, I must say that the Perron Pillo sofa by Knoll is a breath of fresh air! Having witnessed the evolution of furniture trends over the years, it’s truly refreshing to see a piece that defies convention and embraces the informality of modern living.
For the first time, this year at Milan Design Week, Knoll and Willo Perron introduced the “Perron Pillo” sofa, which we highlighted as one of our top picks for the week, in the North American market.
As a fervent admirer, I must say that the Perron Pillo sofa, aptly named, is not your typical piece of furniture. Unlike traditional sofas with a rigid frame, this one stands alone, giving it a unique freestanding feel. What makes it even more versatile is its modular design, allowing it to be customized based on the size and shape of my living space. Plus, there are two depth options available, making it ideal for any room. And, to top it off, I can pick from a variety of textiles for the upholstery, ensuring it fits perfectly with my decor.
Pillows are soft and spacious, according to the brand, they’re meant to be sank into instead of perched upon. Perron mentioned that he aimed to create a couch that would elicit astonishment and feelings.
Jonathan Olivares, Senior Vice President of Design at Knoll, expressed a desire to blend the casual and relaxed atmosphere we experience in our homes with the intellectual precision and professionalism synonymous with Knoll. Willo, who works across various realms such as music, fashion, and pop culture, designs furniture that caters to the functional requirements of interior spaces. It’s this harmonious mix of cultural relevance and practicality that Olivares aims to encourage at Knoll today.
For the debut of our product line in North America, Perron collaborated with Knoll to establish the artistic vision for a fresh marketing campaign. Have a look at it through the gallery provided.
