As a fan who has followed the inspiring journey of Anthony Robles since his days as a college wrestler, I am absolutely thrilled to see this incredible story brought to life on the big screen. Having read his book “Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated,” I can attest that the challenges he overcame and the resilience he displayed are truly awe-inspiring.
In the trailer for Amazon MGM Studios’ biographical sports film titled “Unstoppable,” Jennifer Lopez portrays the mother of a college wrestler who faces numerous obstacles on his journey.
Starting December 6th, William Goldenberg’s fact-based drama will be shown in selected theaters. Later, starting January 16, 2025, it can be streamed on Prime Video. The cast includes Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, and Don Cheadle.
The story, Relentless Pursuit, revolves around Jerome, a high school athlete who was born without a right leg and faces a harsh upbringing, all the while nurturing a dream to excel as a college wrestler.
In the trailer, Jerome expresses that when others gaze upon him, they initially notice his lack. However, he asserts that if he triumphs, it won’t be his single leg that defines him the most.
Afterward, Lopez encourages her son with these words: “You inspire others to have faith in something greater. To them, you’re not just a person without a leg; you’re an indomitable force.
In this gaming world, I’m stepping into the director’s chair for the first time, following a script penned by the trio – Eric Champnella, Alex Harris, and John Hindman. This cinematic journey is inspired by Robles’s 2012 book “Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion,” which he co-authored with Austin Murphy. As we dive into this game, let’s see how my gaming instincts translate onto the big screen!
Among the talented individuals behind the scenes of this movie are me, being one of the producers, alongside Robles, Ben Affleck, David Crockett, Matt Damon, Andy Fraser, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Gary Lewis. We’re all working together to bring you an exceptional cinematic experience!
The movie titled “Unstoppable” was first shown at the Toronto International Film Festival. In his critique for The Hollywood Reporter, their main film critic, David Rooney, stated that “the script’s emotional manipulation feels entirely warranted due to the genuinely moving human tale depicted in Robles’ story.
