Westside Gunn Keeps His Halloween Tradition Alive With '11' EP

As a long-time fan of Westside Gunn and Griselda Records, I can confidently say that Halloween has become my favorite time of year – not just for candy and costumes, but for new music from one of my favorite artists! Every year, I eagerly await Gunn’s annual tradition of dropping a project on or around Halloween, and this year is no exception.

Every year, it’s become a tradition for Westside Gunn to release a new project around Halloween, with the Griselda rapper starting this trend with “Hitler Wears Hermes” on October 13 and continuing with annual releases of the mixtape series from 2016 through 2018. “Hitler Wears Hermes 7” dropped a day later in 2019, while Westside Gunn released “And Then You Pray For Me” last year on October 13. So, you could say that Halloween has become an unofficial release date for Westside Gunn’s projects.

This Halloween, I’m riding high on a wave of excitement. Following my recent Saucony partnership announcement and diving into the wrestling world with 4th Rope, I dropped my latest EP, “11,” as a sequel to last year’s “10.” This week is shaping up to be one of the biggest in my rap career yet!

11 marks the initial drop for the rapper this week, with his upcoming album, “Still Praying,” set to release on Friday, November 1. This is a sequel to his previous work, “And Then You Pray For Me.

Number 11 represents my most heartfelt creation; it’s a tribute to my brother who lost his life in April, yet it’s narrated by my brother who is serving time in prison, striving for freedom. As expressed by Gunn, this portrays the genuine circumstances of Westside Gunn.

The Buffalo rapper took complete charge of the project, without any collaborations or production assistance from Denny Laflare. Check out the complete playlist underneath.
