Best Celebrity Halloween Costumes 2024: Selena Gomez, Jennifer Garner, Janelle Monáe and More

As a die-hard fan of pop culture and all things entertaining, I must say that the recent Halloween costumes of these celebrities have truly taken my breath away! Megan Thee Stallion’s transformation into Starfire from DC Comics showcases her ability to embody any character with such grace and style. Her dedication to recreating a 1980s version of the superhero is simply commendable, and I can’t wait to see what she’ll come up with next year!

Hollywood stars channeled iconic looks for this year’s Halloween.

Stars this year showcased a diverse array of inventive and entertaining costumes, ranging from reprising iconic roles such as Jennifer Garner‘s portrayal of her character from 13 Going on 30, to paying tribute to other celebrities like Halle Bailey embodying Halle Berry and Paris Hilton channeling Uma Thurman, all the way to satirizing popular trends such as the Ozempic parody.

Enthusiastic about Halloween, singer-songwriter Janelle Monáe meticulously designs her costumes years ahead of time. Recently, she revealed yet another stunning makeover, this time as E.T. from the 1982 movie by Steven Spielberg.

In an interview for the cover story of the Hollywood Reporter, the actress who loves Halloween shared her thoughts on dressing up: “I want people to perceive me as someone who isn’t timid about looking foolish. I wasn’t scared to explore my fears and translate them into a costume. I’m not afraid to change or transform.

Below, THR offers a roundup of this year’s costumes donned by a myriad of stars including Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway and more.

Jennifer Garner

In a nod to one of her earlier roles, the actress reenacted a scene from the 2004 romantic comedy, “13 Going on 30”. She donned the famous gown and jewelry that her character sported at the office celebration.

Janelle Monáe

As a gamer, I’d say: “This year, channeling my inner E.T., I paid tribute to Steven Spielberg’s 1982 masterpiece, ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,’ by sporting an iconic costume. I said, ‘Welcome back, E.T.’ And you know what made it even more authentic? Using Google Maps for directions!

For her, Halloween holds a special joy that dates back to her childhood,” she shared with THR. “It sparks a broader discussion on how we can promote happiness, imagination, and creativity. I’m simply trying to encourage more of these experiences, particularly around Halloween. To me, this isn’t laborious work, but heart work. I do it because it fills my heart.
