‘Jenna’s Off Conquering The World’: Jurassic World: Chaos Theory’s Scott Kreamer Reflects On Working With Camp Cretaceous Vet Jenna Ortega, And How He Think She’d React To Brooklynn’s Continuing Story

As a seasoned gamer and Jurassic Park universe enthusiast, I must say that I’ve been thoroughly captivated by the transformation of the franchise from the big screen to our living room screens through Netflix’s Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. While I eagerly await the theatrical release of Jurassic World Rebirth in 2025, the interim period has been more than filled by the thrilling adventures of this television series.

Though we won’t be able to watch “Jurassic World Rebirth” in cinemas until July 2025, the television schedule for 2024 has been keeping things exciting with the escapades of “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory”. This TV show made its debut on Netflix this year itself, and what’s interesting is that the character Brooklynn, played by Jenna Ortega, has a new face in the series.

Scott Kreamer, author of EP Scott Kreamer, shares his unique perspectives on how Ortega might respond to Kiersten Kelly’s portrayal of her character in Camp Cretaceous. I gained insight into this when I had the pleasure of interviewing Kreamer during the recent Season 2 debut of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.

In our recent gaming banter about the connections between this series and the Jurassic Park universe, Scott Kreamer confessed he’s been out of touch with Ms. Ortega for a while now. Yet, he generously divulged some exclusive insights to us at TopMob.

To be honest, I haven’t had a chance to chat with Jenna lately since she’s off on an exciting adventure around the globe. Our last conversation was during the recording for Brooklyn at the tail end of Camp Cretaceous, when she was in Romania, mastering fencing and cello skills. Yet, I can only imagine how captivated she must be by Kiersten, just like the rest of us!

Re-casting Brooklynn (Kiersten Kelly) in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory contributed significantly to the convincing execution of the major Season 1 twist, as it placed our former camper in a drastically altered situation. An unlucky encounter with an Allosaurus nearly took Brooklynn’s life and resulted in her having a limb difference, due to losing part of her arm to the dinosaur’s jaws.

As a gaming enthusiast, let me share my take on the thrilling twist in the storyline of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. Initially, there was some resistance from the producers, including Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World Dominion director), but the risk they took definitely paid off. In Season 2, they delved deeper into Brooklynn’s character, sending her on a journey that explored uncharted territories, particularly focusing on how she learned to overcome her limb difference.

It’s that sort of bold decision making that has me agree with Scott Kreamer’s hypothesis on how Jenna Ortega would approve of both Kiersten Kelly’s spot-on performance, and the story that’s been written around this fixture of the Camp Fam. Though Kreamer would know better than me, as working with Ortega on five seasons of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, plus one special, is the sort of tenure where actor and creative bond over the character they both have a stake in.

The upcoming season of “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory” appears promising, as it concluded with an exciting cliffhanger that should delight fans of the latest movie installments. Given Brooklynn’s significant choice towards the end, this midquel between the last two Jurassic World films offers a wealth of opportunities to provide engaging backstory and contribute to the franchise in a stylish manner.

Regardless if you’re excited about more escapades from Brooklynn or Jenna Ortega reprising her role in Wednesday, you’ll find it all on one platform in the streaming world. By subscribing to Netflix, not only can you catch up on both seasons of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, but also re-live Wednesday Addams’ ongoing series of adventures.
