As a longtime fan who has watched Carson Daly grow from a MTV VJ to a multi-tasking TV host, I can empathize with his desire for more time with family. Having lost my dad at a young age myself, I understand the preciousness of those moments with our children. Carson’s comments about wanting to get off television and prioritize walking his kids to school ring all too true for me.

It doesn’t seem plausible that Carson Daly has a leisurely work routine at NBC, given his extensive responsibilities. Currently in its 26th season on the 2024 TV schedule, “The Voice” is one of his roles, and since 2013, he’s also been hosting “The Today Show.” This double duty doesn’t seem to leave much time for sleep! With Hoda Kotb planning to depart in 2025, there are concerns that Daly might follow suit, especially after some concerning remarks he recently made.

Audience members were taken aback when esteemed co-host Hoda Kotb of the popular morning show The Today Show revealed her upcoming departure from NBC. She expressed her desire to dedicate more time to her two young daughters, and it seems that Carson Daly’s initial feeling was sadness at no longer sharing daily moments with her. However, his remarks to the Daily Mail suggest that he may not view this decision as entirely negative.

Carson Daly has spent more than half of his life on television, and things have significantly changed since he was hosting TRL on MTV in the late ’90s. Given that he lost his father at a young age, it’s understandable why he might be contemplating how his career impacts his children. Hoda Kotb could be the motivator for him to make a major shift, as he further explained.

Regarding Hoda, I’m joyful for her as it seems like she’ll have additional time. Spending time with children, like walking them to school, is far more valuable in my opinion.

My main curiosity is whether the NBC host, should he choose to reduce his work commitments, will depart from The Today Show, The Voice, or perhaps both? He has given no hint as to which position he values more, but if maintaining a part in his children’s morning routine is significant to him, that could be our clue.

Instead of that, he’s now the sole on-camera personality left from The Voice’s inaugural season, with Carson Daly showing signs of melancholy upon Blake Shelton’s departure in 2023. Perhaps he also feels his tenure may be nearing an end. As a devoted fan of this singing competition myself, it’s hard to envision anyone else managing the star-studded coaches or navigating contestants through the competition simultaneously.

The speculation surrounding Carson Daly arises once again as another rumor hints at a co-host of Today potentially departing. Reports indicate that Savannah Guthrie has been contemplating leaving the morning show post-election. As we move into the new year, it remains intriguing to observe what Guthrie and Daly might be up to; however, for now, viewers can still look forward to the full team on NBC every weekday morning.
