The 10th installment of Capital One’s televised golf competition, The Match, which has been adding excitement to the sport’s off-season since its inception, is returning. Debuting in 2018 with Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson going head-to-head a day after Thanksgiving, this event offers fans an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look as players wear microphones and compete in a relaxed setting. Over the years, however, the landscape of golf has become more competitive with events like LIV Golf, TGL, and numerous YouTube golf creators emerging. As a result, recent iterations have seen a lot of innovation, and this upcoming event will feature a brand-new format yet again.
This event, titled “The Match: Superstars,” is set to showcase an impressive lineup of stars including Bill Murray, Mark Wahlberg, Charles Barkley, Wayne Gretzky, Michael Phelps, Nate Bargatze, Ken Griffey Jr., and Blake Griffin. For the first time ever, it will span over two days instead of one.
Ernie Johnson and Trevor Immelman will provide commentary during the live airing of The Match, which will take place on TNT and Max. This golf tournament will be hosted at Breakers West Country Club in West Palm Beach from November 21st to 22nd.
