As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for dark comedies, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming film, “Chili Finger”. With a powerhouse cast led by Judy Greer, Sean Astin, Bryan Cranston, and John Goodman, this quirky tale of an empty-nested mother finding a human finger in her fast-food chili is shaping up to be a rollercoaster ride through the Midwest.
Actors Judy Greer, Sean Astin, Bryan Cranston, and John Goodman have agreed to take on roles in the forthcoming dark comedy movie titled “Chili Finger“. This project will be helmed by newcomers Edd Benda and Stephen Helstad as co-directors. Interestingly, Helstad is also the scriptwriter, while Goodman serves as an executive producer. Currently, Sarah Herrman and Paul Stanko are attached to the cast, and it’s planned for production to commence next spring. The film will be produced by Beyond The Porch and Gold Tree Studios.
The tale, titled “Chili Finger“, revolves around a woman named Greer, who has recently left her nest, finding a grisly discovery – a human finger – in her fast-food chili bowl. In an attempt to extort money from the restaurant, she threatens them with the finding, but what ensues is a downward spiral of chaos as events take an unexpected turn and her life becomes increasingly complicated.
So far, Astin, Cranston and Goodman’s characters are being kept under wraps.
As the creative minds behind this eccentric, dark-humored masterpiece, Benda and I couldn’t be more thrilled about our stellar cast that’s bringing our vision to life on the silver screen. It’s a privilege to share this extraordinary glimpse into Midwest culture with audiences everywhere.
Sam Sandweiss (from Darkwell Entertainment), Tim Chonacas (of Gold Tree Studios), and Jo Henriquez are taking on the role of producers for the movie titled Chili Finger. This production is being introduced to global distribution at the American Film Market in Las Vegas. Moonstone Entertainment has been appointed to manage international sales, while Gersh will take care of domestic distribution within the U.S.
Greer, who boasts a career that encompasses more than 200 TV and movie credits, is set to appear in the second season of Apple TV+’s series “The Last Thing He Told Me,” alongside Jennifer Garner. Other forthcoming projects for this versatile actress include the Lionsgate films “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” and “The Long Walk,” the untitled Jason Keller Apple TV+ series opposite Owen Wilson, as well as the Rob Burnett independent film “In Memoriam” in which she plays Marc Maron’s former spouse. Meanwhile, Astin, who was nominated for an Oscar for his work in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, will be making his Broadway debut this holiday season, taking on the role of Sant in “Elf The Musical.
In my next adventure, I’ll be gracing the screen in Alejandro G. Iñàrritu’s upcoming untitled film for Warner Bros and Legendary Entertainment. Meanwhile, you might catch Bryan Cranston on “Everything’s Going to Be Great” with Allison Janney. He’s also gearing up to start shooting Barry Levinson’s “Assassination” alongside Al Pacino, Jessica Chastain, and Brendan Fraser, and Mark Pellington’s “Lone Wolf” featuring Lily Gladstone. As a gamer, I can hardly wait to see these exciting projects unfold!
Greer is managed by Artists First, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), and Felker Toczek Suddleson; Astin is handled by Stewart Talent, William Morris Endeavor (WME), Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer, Silver & Thompson; Cranston is under Universal Talent Agency (UTA) and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole; Goodman is represented by Gersh, Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, and Shafran PR.
