Irrfan Khan’s son Babil recalls late actor's statement ‘My son is not figuring it out’; wishes he could show ‘baba’ his work in The Railway Men

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for personal narratives, I find the story of Babil Khan truly inspiring. His journey, much like his father’s, is a testament to resilience and determination. While Irrfan Khan was captivating audiences on screen, little did we know that his son was honing his craft behind the scenes and learning valuable lessons in life.

As a lifestyle guru, I’d like to share some insights about the remarkable Irfan Khan, a brilliant Indian actor who had an uncanny ability to evoke both laughter and tears from his audience through his exceptional acting skills. Beyond his on-screen charisma, he was deeply devoted to his family, a testament to his well-rounded character.

On Instagram, Babil Khan shared a clip from an interview between Irrfan Khan and Akshay Kumar, conducted by Rajeev Masand. During the discussion, when the host mentioned that both of Irrfan’s sons were likely figuring things out by now, Irrfan interjected saying “my son is not figuring out”. This touching statement made by his father during the interview left Babil moved.

In the caption, actor Babil, from Friday Night Plan, shared that when his father gave the interview, he was struggling greatly in life. Yet, he still finds joy in recalling Irrfan’s honesty about their situation – “my son is not figuring it out.” He further mentioned, “I wish I could have shown him the man his son became and succeeded.” Babil also acknowledged Shiv Rawail for providing him the chance to work on his debut OTT series, The Railway Men.

In the following part of the caption, the Qala actor disclosed that he pursued his studies in London on meager savings. This was a period where he held jobs at bars and bartended at well-known establishments, as well as at several tumultuous football stadiums. He also appeared in music videos for rappers, occasionally supplementing his income by taking ketchup from McDonald’s and borrowing bread from friends when his savings ran low. He acknowledged that 600 pounds a month in London is barely sufficient for any student attending the University of Westminster. Yet, he developed an affection for the grind.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: From time to time, I find myself sharing personal reflections about my life on social media, and today is no exception. A few months ago, I posted a series of photos – one of which was dedicated to my late father, who was captured in a studio abroad, working diligently. In the caption, I made a promise to him that I’d continue his tireless work ethic.

The young performer conveyed, “I’ve been laboring, Dad. You fought inner battles, carrying deep emotions, it seems like no one understands, right? If I could, I would sacrifice every fiber of my being to touch your skin again. My spine would twist and my soul might shatter, longing to be near you. Wishing I had experienced the pain of ending, so I could start anew. Aren’t you amazed? Politicians are expected to deceive, and when I’m hurting, I know, sleep is merely death hiding. I pray for our farmers, in our arrogance we thought we were superior, I hope we can let go. I hope we find a way. I miss you, India.

In an interesting twist, Irrfan Khan’s son, Babi Khan, first stepped into filmmaking as a camera assistant in the 2017 movie titled Qarib Qarib Single. His acting journey commenced in 2022 with the film Qala, where he shared the screen with Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherjee. Recently, he has been seen on our screens in the miniseries The Railway Men, alongside R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu, Sunny Hinduja, and Juhi Chawla Mehta.
