As a seasoned gamer and tech enthusiast with a keen eye for innovation, I can’t help but be intrigued by Apple‘s latest move into the realm of smart glasses. Having donned my fair share of VR headsets, I’ve seen firsthand the potential these devices hold for immersive gaming experiences.
Apple is considering stepping into novel, innovative projects akin to Meta’s approach. Rumors suggest that they might be working on creating their very own smart glasses, following up from their Apple Vision Pro headset, according to Bloomberg.
In a confidential internal operation known as Atlas, Apple has been delving into the thoughts and opinions of their employees about existing products, which has prompted them to venture into the eyewear industry. According to a purportedly leaked email from Apple’s headquarters in California, Bloomberg reveals that Apple is seeking participants for an upcoming user study focusing on current market smart glasses. The tech giant acknowledges that they will encounter rivalry from companies such as Meta and Snap Inc. in this new endeavor.
Apple’s first attempt at smart lenses, Vision Pro, faced issues with being too cumbersome and awkward for users, not to mention its high price tag of $3,499 USD. Due to low demand, Apple has decided to scale back production. However, they are considering adjusting the pricing to make it more affordable for consumers. Although there’s no specific release date yet, it appears that Apple is exploring ways to develop a more budget-friendly, future wearable eyepiece.
