During an interview with ANI, Koirala shared, “In 2012, I received a diagnosis that shocked me: I had advanced-stage ovarian cancer. At the time of my diagnosis in Nepal, just like anyone else, I was filled with fear and apprehension.

In my heart-pounding excitement, I shared, “We found ourselves at Jaslok Hospital. As the esteemed physicians entered our presence, multiple top-tier doctors, I couldn’t help but feel the cold grasp of mortality upon me. It felt as though my days were numbered, that this was the final chapter of my existence.

In simpler terms, the actress who played Maya mentioned that some members of her family were aware of individuals who had visited New York for medical care, and she recalled that her grandfather himself had received treatment at Sloan Kettering.

Koirala stayed approximately 5 to 6 months in New York for medical care. She discussed her successful 11-hour surgery, expressing gratitude towards the doctors who showed kindness towards her family, and she also talked about her positive reaction to chemotherapy treatments.

The actress who starred in Sanju revealed that her mother had acquired a Rudraksha beads necklace from Nepal, following Mahamrityunjaya prayers, and presented it to the surgeon during the operation. After the 11-hour long surgery, the doctor commented that the mala had shown remarkable effects.

During her struggle with cancer, Koirala remembered instances where she experienced profound darkness, despair, pain, and terror. She divulged that her mother consistently provided motivation by assuring her, “Manisha, you’re persevering; the treatment is helping you.

After overcoming cancer, Manisha Koirala pondered on her journey and decided to reassess her professional path. She spoke passionately about seizing this “second opportunity” in life, promising to pour all her renewed energy into her career.

Manisha Koirala acknowledged that she felt accountable for letting down her fans by selecting lesser quality movies, but she is now determined to rectify this situation. In her own words, she expressed a desire to “set things right” once she recognized the abundance of blessings in her life.
